A Stupid angle

It is late evening. About to get REAL dark.

I’m in the car,

Back seat.

Cheat sheet.

That’s neat

My dad is driving, sitting in the front seat.

My mom to his left.

Travelling to a relative’s house.

It’s a 20-minute drive.

The road is embedded in my memory.

It’s Boring. After 5 minutes,

I find myself working in the car.

On my phone, I’m engaging on X.

It’s been 10 minutes,

I’m about to comment: “Once I ha-

Then it caught my eye.

It was dark now.

To our left, a red light.

But a bit dim. covered.

Covered by a veil.

I move my eyes up.

That veil was cloth. A long one. worn by a woman.

In front of her, was her man JUST about to drive.

Drive her nuts, maybe.

Oh, a motorcycle. Sorry.

He gripped the throttle, put on the helmet.

He said something to his lady. she looked around.

Cautiously. Covering her face with the cloth, she checked around her.

The lady reported to the man. He gripped the throttle even tightly.

The lady gripped her man even tighter.

Oh hone-

The wrinkles in his shirt increased.

He suddenly rolled the throttle; the bike surpassed us.

We were behind them now.

The wind is fast now.

Just enough to blow her cloth off…a bit.

Just enough to make the headlight’s red color flash.

Striking my eyes, almost blinding me.

But there was something odd. About her veil.

It reminded me of…

of something more than just a veil.

And the headlights. The one that was throwing that dim light.

How it glowed powerfully when the veil was taken off.

red. not just any red. FIRE RED.

A glow that was mightier than all the rest of the headlights.

In the wait to show its potential. Fiery. Angry.

What if the headlight is you, and all it takes for you to burn the competition,

is to remove one veil?

This isn’t motivation. Nor a dopamine hit.

Because I know I don’t write so good to make you bite your nails.

But take this seriously.

It was only because of the wind that headlight glowed. It got a chance.

But in real life? The only wind is your future version.

We’re NOT talking about time remnants (screw flash fans)

The veil and the headlight were so close, the veil above the headlight.

Yet the veil wasn’t of any help to the headlight.

What If, the people you think are the closest…
